Casino Proposal at Chicago Tribune Publishing Center – RNRA Letter to Aldermen
As has been widely reported, the City of Chicago has requested and received multiple casino development proposals.
RNRA’s Development and Land Use Committee and Board of Directors have reviewed the proposal for a casino to be located at the Chicago Tribune Publishing Center.
RNRA’s position on this proposal, has been sent to Aldermen Walter Burnett, Jr. (Ward 27), Brendan Reilly (Ward 42), and Brian Hopkins (Ward 02), as well as to Samir Mayekar, Deputy Mayor for Economic and Neighborhood Development, and Maurice Cox, Commissioner, Department of Planning & Development.

On December 16th, the city will host the Chicago Casino Public Presentations. The event will include presentations by each of the bidders for the Chicago casino as well as an opportunity for public questions nad answers. The program will be livestreamed. Additionally up to 200 members of the public will be randomly selected to attend the event in person. Click HERE to find out more.

Jesse White Community Center – 410 West Chicago Avenue – Chicago,, Illinois
Located in the Near North community, the Jesse White Park and Community Center is 1.64 acres and it includes a fieldhouse with a gymnasium, a computer room, a fitness studio with wheelchair accessible stationary rollers and a state of the art gymnastics center.

Thanksgiving Day Parade – 11/25 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, from 8:00am to 11:00am, and will run along State Street, from Ida B. Wells Drive to Randolph Street. The parade will be broadcast live on VPOD-TV 59.3 and on VPOD-TV’s Roku station.
This year’s lineup includes a variety of marching bands, floats, specialty units, and much more. To view the complete 2021 lineup click here.

Residents should allow for extra travel time during this event as the Chicago Police Department may enact other closures not listed above for safety reasons. There will be several traffic reroutes, detours and increased pedestrian congestion. Please plan accordingly. Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) reroutes are viewable here.
