Wild Mile! Come and Enjoy the Park!
Located along the North Branch Canal of the Chicago River, the Wild Mile can be enjoyed by foot, kayak, canoe or boat.
Come down along the Riverwalk behind the Whole foods to get up close to the floating gardens. Launch from the Eastman street dock behind REI to get access to the river. Or rent a kayak at Kayak Chicago to see the river the way it is meant to be enjoyed.
Come visit by car, bike, CTA or even hop on the North avenue Water taxi.
The first floating walkway will be launched summer 2021 so stay tuned!
If you were wondering where all sorts of things are going on in relation to the Wild Mile, head to UrbanRiv.org/visit to see where the latest installations are resting, where to enter the floating walkway, launch a kayak, rent a boat, spot some turtles (sunny days only, of course). Check in for the latest developments and the best ways to see all the sights the Wild Mile has to offer!
