Gallery Prak‑sis Opening September 11th
September 11 @ 4:30 am - 7:30 pm

The Prak‑sis team is thrilled to announce the grand opening of our space in the River North arts district at 730 N. Franklin Street on September 11, 2026, presented in conjunction with the River North Design District’s 10th Annual Fall Gallery Walk.
You are warmly invited to celebrate a special moment with The Blue, featuring the first solo exhibition of Ugi Bumm at Prak‑sis’ new location in Chicago. For more info, click here.
As the inaugural exhibition in Prak-sis’ new space, The Blue marks the first show with work developed in the Prak-sis residency program, dedicated to fostering long-term relationships with Korean artists and the Chicago contemporary art community.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, where he continues to live and work; Ugi Bumm has spent a decade pushing the boundaries of sculptural ceramic art. He has shown at Paris Montparnasse Museum, National Museum of Contemporary art in Seoul, and the Busan Museum of Art. Despite his prestigious career abroad, The Blue is his breakthrough solo show in the states. Throughout The Blue, Ugi Bumm explores the emotional and poetic possibilities of color. His luminous blue surfaces invite moments of reflection, creating spaces that evoke serenity, memory, and imagination. Through expressive brushwork and subtle tonal variations, each painting unfolds as a personal narrative while encouraging viewers to discover their own emotional connections within the work.
“This project will showcase his unlimited creative energy,” says founder Mi Yeon Kwon Katz. “The grand opening on Sept 11th is open to the public. All interested in Korean contemporary art are welcome and encouraged to attend.”
Collectors, artists, designers, and members of the public are welcomed to experience Prak-sis’ new space, and the cutting edge of contemporary Korean art.
Admission is free and open to the public.
