Special Announcement from Anti-Cruelty: I-Bark-In-the Park

After 20 years hosting Chicago’s first dog-friendly event, The Anti-Cruelty Society regrets to report that Bark in the Park 21 has been cancelled due to a local outbreak of Canine Influenza.

Due to the highly contagious nature of this virus, The Anti-Cruelty Society feels it pertinent in following our mission to promote a healthy and safe community to cancel the event scheduled for Sunday, May 3 at Montrose Harbor.

While we are deeply saddened by this decision, we hope our friends and supporters understand. Further, we’d like to extend a call to action to continue fighting on behalf of the thousands of homeless pets the Society serves each year by participating in iBark in the Park!

Street Sweeping Season Starts Wednesday, April 1st

The Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation (DSS) will resume their seasonal street sweeping schedule on Wednesday, April 1 through November 30.  DSS fleet of street sweepers help to keep streets clean and prevent dirt and debris from entering the sewer system – ultimately allowing for better drainage during a rain storm.

Click on the image below to view an interactive map of the 2015 Street Sweeping Schedule for the months of April and May 2015 only.

For the first few weeks of the street sweeping season, DSS will operate using the old ward boundaries. An updated sweeping schedule will be released when they switch to the current, new ward boundaries.
