The Ohio Place Dog Park re-opened earlier this week after undergoing much-needed improvements. Following feedback from residents, Alderman Reilly allocated a portion of Aldermanic Menu funds for upgrades, including hydroseeding to enhance the park’s landscaping. The park was temporarily closed for three weeks to allow the new grass to grow undisturbed. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time. Now that the work is complete, we hope you and your pets enjoy the revitalized space.
Join us in Ward Park for games, activities, giveaways, treats and more! Kids (12 & under) can plant their own flower and take it home! Registration is Free. Donations are welcome. CLICK HERE for a copy of the flyer.
Based on resident feedback, Alderman Reilly has allocated a portion of the Aldermanic Menu to fund improvements at the Ohio Place Dog Park.
Last fall, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) installed sod throughout the Park at the Alderman’s request. Unfortunately, residents allowed their dogs to play on the sod while fencing and “Keep Off Grass” signage was in-place. This ruined the sod because it wasn’t able to take root.
On Monday, May 13, CDOT will close the park and conduct hydroseeding. The Park will be closed for three weeks to allow the new grass to grow uninterrupted.
Ward 42 encourages you to use the Larrabee Street Dog Park during the closure.

No Vacancy is located in the heart of Chicago’s prominent River North neighborhood. The venue features an elevated American bar fare menu–which is simply “back to basics” with superior ingredients. They wouldn’t call themselves a wine bar, but offer incredible selections by the ounce and by the glass that are typically unavailable in this format; being able to do so in utilizing their innovative wine dispensing system. No Vacancy also features an advanced draft beer dispensing system that uniquely fills each glass from the bottom—UP! Each beer glass is chilled, deodorized, and sanitized every pour using an imported technology called THRILL. The combination of these systems provide a perfect beer pour every time. The cocktail menu is designed to tease any palate—while providing some flair in places for the social media gurus. Everyone is welcome at NV…if you want to be bougie you’re in the right place, but if you want to be anything else you’re sure to find comfort. Welcome home!
