18th Police District Council Monthly Meeting

June 24 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

You are invited to attend a REVIEW OF PROPOSED CHANGES TO CPD POLICY ON TRAFFIC STOPS on June 24th at 6pm at the 18th District Council monthly meeting, held at Lake Shore Park Fieldhouse, 808 N. Lake Shore Drive. A Zoom option (view only) is also available.

Currently there are two proposed policy drafts on CPD’s ability to make certain types of traffic stops, with significant differences between the two Drafts. Our guest speaker will be Commissioner Sandra Wortham, a member of the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA). Commissioner Wortham has supported the Chicago Police Department’s Policy Draft and voted against the 2nd draft that would impose additional restrictions on CPD in making certain types of traffic stops.

Please attend this meeting to better understand the differences between the two different policy drafts and the steps to take to MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD.

Our newly appointed 18th Police District Commander Chris Bielfeldt will also attend and provide safety updates.
