The Chicago Cross-Community Clean-up Challenge – May 1st 2021

It was a beautiful day and together we made a difference!  We love our Chicago!
Thank you to all the enthusiastic volunteers that joined us Saturday May 1st for The Chicago Cross-Community Clean-up Challenge.  Six Community Groups joined forces to clean-up 15 miles of city streets and green space.  RNRA, SOAR, Magnificent Mile Association, Grand Boulevard Advisory Council and Go4th South Loop Advisory Council all teamed up with Keep America Beautiful clearing over 5,400 pounds of trash in just a few hours!   It was a great team effort.
River North volunteers covered blocks from Wabash to Kingsbury and Kinzie to Huron collecting over 1,000 pounds of trash!
A special thank you to our Chicago Fire Department Engine 42 Firefighters and EMTs  for hosting our registration table with a warm welcome, our 18th District CAPS officers, our 42 Ward Superintendent (Anthony Coppolillo) and our sponsors – First Northern Credit Union, Gordon’s Ace Hardware and Jo Jo’s Shake Bar.
