Volunteer Information

The RNRA is seeking public spirited folks who love their neighborhood and are willing to spend a little time making it even better. If you would like to help out, either as a committee member, or with a particular project or event, please complete and submit the following form.

 

Privacy Statement

The RNRA exists to help protect and enhance the quality of life in Chicago’s River North Neighborhood. We inform and solicit feedback from those who live and work in River North about issues that impact our community. We never share contact information with third parties for any reason without permission.

 

RNRA Committees

The following teams need help to advance their ambitious agendas. Individual committee involvement can usually be tailored to fit almost any schedule. If you are interested in joining a Committee, please indicate your preference below.

Committee Opportunities


Marketing and Communications Committee
The RNRA Marketing and Communication Committee is responsible for managing and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the organization’s internal and external communication, including all physical and electronic channels. The MCC provides related advice, support and facilitation assistance to other RNRA Committees as needed. Contact Chair
 
Park Advisory Council
The RNRA Park Advisory Council (PAC) is responsible for oversight of the association’s open space and outdoor environment agenda, including Park 511 capital improvements and programming, neighborhood-wide park and public space development / enhancement initiatives, informing and collecting input from the community, formulating recommendations, and interfacing with relevant agencies and organizations.

Public Safety and Hospitality Committee
The RNRA Public Safety / Hospitality Committee is responsible for two related but distinct aspects of the Association’s public safety agenda; supporting and facilitating efforts to solve and prevent non-hospitality-related crime, and supporting and facilitating efforts to reduce negative community impacts involving hospitality and entertainment businesses. The Committee’s activities include enhancing public and business awareness, collecting community input and formulating recommendations about liquor-related licenses, mediating disputes and interfacing with relevant agencies and organizations.

Event Management Committee
The RNRA Event Management Committee is responsible for planning, promoting and executing the association's public activities and events, including River North SummerFest (with RNBA), The Holiday Extravaganza (with RNBA), Quarterly Community meetings, Executive Committee meetings and Mixers.  The Committee assists the Park Advisory Council with the Outdoor Film Festival and the Membership Committee with HOA Leaders' Forums as required and interfaces with relevant agencies and organizations.

Development Committee
The RNRA Development Committee is responsible for execution of the association’s real estate development agenda, the goal of which is to support and advocate responsible, far-sighted development that considers its present and future impact on all stakeholders. Activities include design review and evaluation, informing and collecting input from the community, formulating recommendations, and interfacing with relevant agencies and organizations.

Membership Committee
The RNRA Membership Committee is responsible for maintaining a dialogue with member-homeowners associations in order to apprise them of RNRA projects and activities and to assist them with resources or advocacy as needed.  The Committee also oversees member engagement, training, recruitment and retention initiatives, supports other Committees and interfaces with relevant agencies and organizations as needed.
